While attending ISTE2014 I heard the term "backchanneling" used quite often. Each presenter gave us an address, and we logged in. Some gave us a QR code, which linked us directly to the website. I was intrigued! What I discovered was this was a way to have conversations quietly with others in the room, but in a way that was not distracting to the presenter, but beneficial to the participants. We found out where we were from, were able to actively participate, and we were able to collaborate new thoughts as we were inspired by our mentors. Now you can be hip and join the Backchanneling crowd!
